This truffle, of great culinary value, stands out for its intense aroma, with spicy touches, and the exquisiteness of its lightly bitter flavour. It gives a unique flavour to pasta dishes, rice, meats and scrambled eggs.

Availability and seasons of Black Truffle
This diamond of haute cuisine is available for you from November to April, from our best French, Italian and Spanish producers. And a batch from the southern hemisphere is available from May to August.
Quality and variations of Black Truffle
There are several variations or quality grades, depending on the shape and ripening point of the truffle. At Laumont.shop, to ensure the best experience, we only deliver the extra grade. The extra grade has a regular shape, and 95% of the bark is without imperfections, so that the customer acquires specimens with good visual appearance that allows for layering with all slices round and symmetrical. They are the same specimens used in the best restaurants around the world, the truffles that customers fall in love with. They are sold at sizes between 30g and 100g per piece, trying to complete the weight of the order in one piece. A good serving for any recipe is considered to be 10 grams per person.

The price of a truffle evolves in a similar way across all seasons. From November to mid-December, the demand begins and the price is medium-low. In mid-December, during Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations, consumption soars and this delicacy usually reaches its maximum price of the season. In January, at its optimum ripening point, it reaches minimum prices throughout the campaign. January is when they are the best value for money. From February to April there is steady consumption, the quality is maintained and the price can suffer slight increases compared to the January minimum price, depending on the production of Tuber Melanosporum.
Truffles from the southern hemisphere generally have a slightly higher price than the winter season in France, Italy and Spain. Their quality and aroma are equal to or even better.
